Abstract
This research paper examines the ecofeminist perspectives present in Margaret Atwood's speculative fiction short stories. Atwood's works often delve into themes of environmental degradation, gender inequality, and the interconnectedness of these issues. Through an ecofeminist lens, this paper analyzes how Atwood portrays the relationship between nature and women, critiques patriarchal structures, and explores the potential for feminist environmental activism in her speculative fiction. By examining key stories such as "The Year of the Flood" and "Stone Mattress," this paper explores how Atwood intertwines ecological concerns with feminist narratives, highlighting the need for sustainable and equitable relationships between humans and the environment.
